We are the Zuniga family, and we have the privilege of leading the team here at Con Mis Manos Deaf Ministry.
Jesus Alberto was born and raised in Ciudad Victoria, the capital of the state of Tamaulipas, Mexico. Jesus moved with his family to Matamoros at the age of 13. The Lord planted him in a local church where he learned the importance of serving others. Jesus began as a volunteer at Con Mis Manos first as a driver then as a computer teacher in 2005. Soon after Jesus came on full-time at the ministry. Over the years he has been a mentor and father to many Deaf boys in need of a godly example. He has directed multiple building projects, has taught a variety of vocational training workshops and leads the media outreach as well as the legal advocacy aspects at CMM.
Michelle was born and raised in the great state of Ohio. She completed her undergraduate studies in Christian Education and Psychology with a focus on Deaf Ministry at Ozark Christian College (Joplin, MO). While in grad school pursing her Masters in Psychology, she embarked on what she planned to be a short 3-month internship to serve the Deaf community of Matamoros, Tamaulipas Mexico. God had different plans. That was 2003. Now 20+years later, Michelle continues to serve here at Con Mis Manos. Michelle directs the educational programming as well as the family support services. She also serves as an interpreter of LSM (Mexican Sign Language) for the Deaf community.
Jesus and Michelle were married in 2008 and enjoy the opportunity to serve together in the ministry alongside their daughter Lizbeth who God brought to the family in 2018. Lizbeth has a heart to serve others in need and can often be found helping in many areas of outreach.
